I love a good color challenge that FORCES me to step away from my deep

need for literal translation/reality, so a limited palette REALLY does make

me reach - for - IT!  And this one DELIGHTED me with the outcome! But,

Creating Cards with White Ink - Faux Chalkboard Technique

Just Us Girls are enjoying our usual rotation of challenge premises: it's TECHNIQUE time! 

This week, our dearer than dear, Tangii, is hosting this timely and FUN challenge, and YOU

 are invited to play with US!  Have you SEEN all the fun looks with chalk on Pinterest and

even in your local GROCERY store!  The look is SMOKIN' hot and we're translating the

satisfaction of creating a faux chalkboard/use of white ink, into paper-crafty delight!

Opaque white ink is one of the BEST developments in the crafting world, ever!

Why don't you get inky with us!

I'm sure you have your favorite, but my fave WHITE craft ink  is from Wplus9 Design Studio

 - the most perfect ratio of ink, pad and perfection!  It's my go-to stamping ink! ~ LOVE!~

I save my older, white pads for distressing backgrounds, such as this yummy

hounds-tooth texture ...  What's that I said?   WHITE ink - God's gift to crafters!

Other tools to love {HOARD!} - CHALK pencils!  {Yes, please!}

And straight, crafting/pigment ink, direct to black cardstock...

 purrrrr, purrrrrrr AND meowwwww!  {Me LIKEY!}

Sketch Challenge with Just Us Girls

Howdy, sweet and crafty friends!  Another week has come and gone, 

and that sounds like an excellent reason to gather some of our fave

crafty goods and MAKE SOMETHING!  So ink up your besties and

make a creation with JUGS!  We got a good 'un, to get you goin!

 We've got a LOVELY sketch, brought to you by and sweeter than SWEET, Maria!

It's a classic composition, and as you will see, by the superb samples my fellow 

JUG-ETTES have created for you, it will translate easily to a scrapbook page! 

If you are celebrating {and WHY wouldn't you be!?!} National Scrapbook Day,

we'd LOVE to see your scrapbook work combined with this sketch!

Hellooooooooooo, darling blog friends!  I'm SO happy you are here!  

I'm inky, and sleep deprived and SO full of excitement and love for

the stamp set{s} I'm featuring here today, I can BARELY see strait

ur, uh - see STRAIGHT!  {Or type!  For that matter!} 

I've got the PERFECT recipe to share with you... For THIS!

Yipeeee!  I MADE this!  And all because I have the VERY wonderful

stamps for the job, thanks to the BEST stamp designer in all of the 

stampy - lovin' world...  Darling Dawn W.  SHE has blessed us with the MOST

darling, MOST expressive, MOST useful stamp set - my GOODNESS I 

love it, her, them, EVERYTHING Wplus9!  Please, ladies and gentlemen, 

check out, Fresh Baked!  It's got ALL the ingredients for stampy fun, 

and THEN some! 

*Gasp!* G'ahead - let it out!

You probably already guessed - there are coordinating dies! 

Can you STAND it!?!

BUT THERE IS SOOOOO MUCH MORE!!!!

I made THIS, with LEFTOVERS!  Easy peasy!

Honey, sweeties and BABIES!  If you can't stand the heat, TURN OFF THE HEAT GUN!

And get INTO the kitchen, 'cause these stamps are scorching, and Mama's got some stampin'

to do!  Yipeeee and CARTWHEEL!  Don't forget, my samples are, but a mere glimpse of 

the wonders of this fine set!  Check out Dawn's blog and scroll to see what she and other

members of the team have been up to!  YOU will be cookin' with FIRE in noooo time! 

But in case you're are hankering for more info on how I altered this clipboard to 

become a wall-hanging recipe catch all, here's a quick run down! 

Fit designer or CUSTOM STAMPED paper to fit clipboard, 

then attach with Mod Podge or the glue or your choice.  

Gather heavy gave wire and your fave tools, then drill holes to create the 

catch-all/basket.  Mine is a simple design, but you could add more wire if 

you plan to store smaller recipes, etc.  

Bend to shape and add wire as shown.

 Cut desired word and shapes from Wplus9 Design Studio Dies 

and adhere where desired.  This project could become a little 

piece of heavenly, homemade vintage goodness in YOUR kitchen

for the NEXT generation of cook/stamper in YOUR life!  

 So, THAT'S fun!  {Or, at least I thought so!  LOL} Sure hope you did, too!

Welcome back to MY VERY OWN Wplus9 Design Studio stamp fest!

Wait, wait, wait...   Did I say STAMP fest?  What WAS I thinking....? 

While Wplus9 Design Studio makes some of the MOST outstanding

stamps on the market, there is much, MUCH more to this company

than stamps...   WE'VE got the MOST amazing variety of steel, designer

dies, most of which, coordinate, flawlessly with Dawn's unique, classy &

gorgeous stamp designs.  For ALL the skinny on Wplus9 quality dies, 

read more here! Meanwhile, OF course - there are STAMPS to be had!

But THIS project is a LOVE affair, with Wplus9 DIES!!!

Your honor, may I submit into evidence, Folk Art Alphabet Die!

 Purrrrrrrrr!  {And SQUEEEEEEE!}

HONESTLY - THIS, my friends, is the DIE I would want to be stranded on a desert

island with...   {I know you were wondering!}  THIS is the one!  If you noted, in the

"action" shot, I still have the die whole.  At some point, I might have to separate the 

letters, because I'm already dreaming about making STENCILS with this terrific, 

flawlessly scaled font....  I could USE these letters for EVERYTHING!  I'm in LOVE, 

and Dawn has proven herself, once again, as the GENIUS we already KNOW she is! 

*Gasp!*

So, in TRUE celebration of this wonderful tool, I needed to create something just

a little MORE than a mere word, phrase or sentiment.  I borrowed some inspiration

from the cornucopia of PINTEREST, and ran with the football!  A multi media 

canvas, with a snazzy saying, a few words of wisdom...   Presented with delictible

use of crafty McCRAFTERSON materials...   Yum, yum - CREPE PAPER!!!

Paper SUNSHINE and excellent tools and materials...   

Check it OUT, babies - words to live by!

 Lots, and lots and lots of letters - LETTERS that just pop right out of their

die shape - NO clingy bits or fussy cutting needed...  DID I mention, I simply

LOVE Wplus9 Products!?!  Additionally, I used the DARLING and all purpose

companion dies and stamps for Blanket Stitched Blooms - a CLASSIC look

with multitudes of size, shape and registration for OUTSTANDING projects,

again & again.  TOTALLY addicting stampy/crafty fun - YOU'LL love them, too!

 This sweet little card whispered spring, cotton candy and love - 

all I had to do was do my part to stamp, cut and assemble it...  

Yes, I'm showing off.  I can't STOP stamping with Wplus9 stamps!  

And DIES!  {Remember!  it's ALL about the DIES!}

 I LOVE this sentiment, and ALL of the words and images in this darling little

set, but you must know by now, DAWN'S stamp sets are ALWAYS a huge value!

So, so, so MANY details - just TOO many to count, really!  You'll have to get some

for yourself and maybe you can let ME know!  {LOL} 

So glad you allowed me the chance to give it a whirl{counting the WAYS, I mean!}!

Wplus 9 Design Studio April/May Release feature - Day 1

Hello, my craftilicious blog friends!  Welcome to my "stamp-warming" party

for my FAVORITE stamp company, Wplus9 Design Studio...!  I'm SO excited

to be creating with some special products, for the sole purpose of DAZZLING

lovely YOU, with my very favorite attributes of this latest release!  We've mix-

ed things up, a bit this round, so that each and every design team member & 

our beautiful leader, Dawn W., can have the spotlight, to entice you & share the 

excitement for this incredible line of crafty products, in our own unique style! 

 

As such, I've enlisted the help of some darling little girls, to set the stage for

my, PERSONAL stamp festival...  May I present, fun with Paisley Patterns,

and a little sprinkling of Pretty Patches: Umbrella!  Additionally, am completely

smitten with ALL of the phrases in Strictly Sentiments #1...   LOVE them all!

But these girls are the physical embodiments the the phrase, 

"SHINE BRIGHT, like a diamond!" I'm sure you'll agree...!
